Hi everyone.
I had my 5yr Mammogram scan yesterday, doing my usual worrying. You would think I would know the answer to my question, but I hate having them done as they stress me out.
After she took the 1st image, she shook her head! Me, alarm bells. Carried on took the 2nd.
When I was getting dressed I saw a scan on the monitor behind her, does anyone know if that is your scan image?
Thanks
Hi, waiting for scan results is such a scary time, even when you think it's probably ok. I recently had my 5 year mammogram and had to chase up the results so I can empathise.
From what I know, it's not just the current mammogram, it's the comparison to the previous one that is most important, so even if she was looking t your scan, they need to compare it.
I hope you get your results, and peace of mind, soon. Best wishes
The same hing happened to me on my second year mammogram check up. Ie I saw a picture on the screen which showed a large white area. I tried to ignore it, went for lunch with my husband and told him it was worrying me. He made me go back and ask the consultant that day as we couldn’t wait another two weeks completely stressed by this image. Luckily my consultant saw me immediately, showed me my image ( completely different to the one I saw on screen) and reassured me that it looked ok but results will be 2 weeks. Having seen the image on his screen I was so relieved.I felt really angry about the nurse doing the mamo though. Why would you leave an image on screen of a very definite cancer breast?
Update:
After my Mammogram my breast was very sore which i have never had before. After a check, i think i can feel a small lump.
I called my breast care nurse to explain. And she asked where the lump is and what size is it, does it fell like the size of a pea?! Which it does.
To say i am terrified now is an understatement. I have an appointment on monday to discuss what i think i can feel, and i am assuming my Mammogram results. Couldn't have an appointment sooner.
