I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday who confirmed I have clear margins (after second surgery) following a lumpectomy and no node involvement. My tumour is mixed biology of tubular and ductal and was 16mm (1mm found in margins which resulted in second surgery). I am triple positive but only grade 1 which is unusual for her2 positive, but it seems that the tubular component has reduced the risk. She told me that following an MDT, although I was previously told I would need chemo, this is now going to be offered as an optional because it will only be a minimal benefit. Instead, I would have tamoxifen and radiotherapy for 5 sessions. However, she said the oncologist would call me Monday to discuss further. I have used the predict and it shows 0% of benefit, but I am aware that it is not fully accurate of her2 cancers. I am thinking that I will choose not to go ahead with chemo, and my family agree, but has anyone else been in this position?
