I had my blood test yesterday, as my chemotherapy was scheduled for this afternoon.
My appointment was at 3:20pm, and I arrived 10 minutes early. There were no other patients waiting, so I was seen immediately.
Next day, the nurse called again to inform me that my results had still not been received. Upon contacting phlebotomy, she was told my blood sample had never even been received from the previous day.
I was deeply disappointed. As a result of this, I was asked to repeat the blood test, and my chemotherapy had to be rescheduled. This entire stress was caused solely by the irresponsible and unprofessional conduct of the phlebotomy staff. Furthermore, my friend—who travelled from Southend to support me—must now make the journey again, as my husband will be working.
This incident is extremely frustrating, and such negligence is entirely unacceptable.
