Hi folks, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April after finding a lump in the shower. I had every scan going. The PET scan showed 2 false positives on top, so i had to have a brain and throat scan too, which was very scary, both were negative thankfully.
I had a successful lumpectomy and 2 lymph nodes removed. One showed cancer cells and the other was clear, so they didn't remove any more.
I'm just about to start chemo, next week, and will have radio after. Im astounded at the long list of poss side effects I've been given. Never knew about poss probs with skin, nails, teeth, mouth, numb finger tips etc. I've been very pragmatic up to now, but I'm not looking forward to this next stage.
Id appreciate any tips, advice or positive stories. I'm going to be trying an ice cap machine and also ice mitts/socks.
