Good morning

my mother had Nov 24 29mm grade 3 invasive duct al carcinoma 6 nodes , triple negative. Lumpectomy healed and her recovery at 77 years of age amazing. Declined adjuvant treatment.
July 10th grade 3 invasive duct yak carcinoma triple negative 22mm 0/3 nodes negative.
This time she’s 79 years old very uncomfortable. Had a Sw retina drained twice , still leaking today and a home where they drained the fluid off .
mum concern this needs steri strips but it’s still leaking they have said she must have radiotherapy in next two weeks as so invasive. She is very undecided as am I . Any help at all would be so appreciated.

  • Hi

I am sorry your mum has had a recurrence of TNBC and now has a seroma which is still leaking. I suggest she contacts her breast care nurse for more advice about this. I don’t think they would undertake radiotherapy until she is healed. She is likely to have an appointment with the radiotherapy consultant, then a planning appointment, before her radiotherapy happens. In my experience the planning appointment was about 2 weeks after I saw the consultant and the radiotherapy itself about 3 weeks after that.
