Starting letrazole now as GP took time to do prescription looked at side effects and not too worried been told they can swap to something else if needed but hopefully all will be fine
Well had appointment yesterday was told it’s a common breast cancer and caught early 2 lumps 7.5mm in left breast & calcification in right breast I’ve been told need to take letrozole before surgery which will probably be end of September. Had bloods & ecg done as part of pre op. Still getting my head together as and didn’t right everything down that they told me thankfully my husband was with me and we remember most of it The cancer is in the ducts and they don’t think it’s spread but are taking out lymph nodes to double check Before surgery I’m get a 3d scan done plus they said about getting seeds in I said at my last appointment when I had biopsies done they said they put a marker in but seems this is different. Any tips on what I can expect helpful
Hi Leglessghirl
I believe markers and seeds are different. The marker they put in at biopsy was so they know where the biopsy was taken from. I understand hospitals use a range of different methods to locate tumours during surgery. It sounds like yours is using Magseeds. These are put in before surgery. They are magnetic so the surgeon can easily find them.
