Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer at the beginning of the year and have now completed six cycles of TC chemotherapy. I'm currently recovering from a successful lumpectomy, where my 9mm tumour and two lymph nodes were removed.

I recently received the good news that my margins are clear and there was no cancer found in my lymph nodes, which is such a huge relief.

However, my oncologist has now advised that I'll need to have 14 cycles of Kadcyla (trastuzumab emtansine). I was really hoping I wouldn't need to have this, so a little disappointed.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been through Kadcyla and would be willing to share their experience. I know everyone reacts differently, but it would be really helpful and reassuring to hear how others found it, particularly in terms of side effects and how manageable it was.

Thank you so much in advance.

Sophie

  • Hi Sophie

just reading your message such good news you have been given

I’m sorry I cannot help you in regards of Kadcyla

We have a little in common as I had lymph nodes (in my neck) taken out (quite a few) too following an operation of tongue cancer (jan25)

i have been given some good news too thankfully and yes it’s such a relief

Lately I have more pain in my arm -going up to my breast- depending how I lift it. I kind of think it is a normal thing when the muscles/nerves have been affected but it nagging me as it seems to get worse.

I guess I will have to wait for my next review in the autumn

sorry I cannot help you but can wish you all the best

    take care
