Hello all, I recently started my treatment last week for breast cancer. I have felt rough, but nothing I couldn't handle at the moment.
Emotionally I am a wreck, crying all the time feeling full of dread.
Is this treatment side effects affecting me?
Thanks.
Hi JackieT
I am sorry you are struggling. I think chemo can be mentally challenging but wondered if you have also been taking steroids to mitigate the effects of the chemo? Steroids can definitely do strange things to your mood. I found it helped to keep a symptom diary so I could compare cycles and also be prepared. My husband and I also agreed a code word to use if either of us felt my mood was escalating, that was very helpful in keeping things on an even keel. I am sure others will chip in with views.
