Hi, I recently had a stereotactic biopsy for calcification. I’ve had to chase up my results, all I’ve been told by an admin lady is that I’m going to get a call from radiology for an appointment. That’s it I know no more.

Does this mean they found something cancerous in my biopsy?

  • It sounds like they want further imaging or maybe further biopsy under imaging. Doesnt mean its definitely cancer but probably suspicious on account theyve done a stereobiopsy. Think i would ring the Breast clinic and ask to speak to a breast care nurse for clarification as the secretary wouldn't be able to give any diagnostic information. The BCNs are usually happy to discuss things with a bit more detail. Xx

  • Hi, thanks for replying, it was the breast clinic I phoned and expected that if something was suspicious she would have arranged to have someone speak to me. I think I might ring back.

  • Id ring back and ask to speak to a bcn or for one to call you back. There might be a direct number they could give you. Xx

  • I have called the clinic back to speak with someone clinical, they’re not allowed to give biopsy results over the phone! However, the lady I spoke to is going to make sure that radiology ring me today.

  • At least thats some progress. Hope you get a call xx

  • Thankyou, we really don’t need all this when already worried.

  • No definitely not! Sometimes no information is better than bits they cant fully explain at the time. Xx
