I recently had the above, having been diagnosed with a small amount of DCIS.

I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy in 2022 on the other side, so I know how it feels !

Fortunately I was all clear until two months ago, but lucky it was seen on my regular mammogram.

Am grateful for the treatment so far, just having 5 days of radiotherapy next week. Then should be done !

Is it normal to feel this tired after eight weeks, think I am being impatient?

  • Hi, I think it’s normal to feel tired, yes. It is a big surgery. I had surgeries and treatments autumn 24 - spring 25. I had some further surgery this Jan and it wiped me out and has taken me much longer to recover than I anticipated. I think it’s the mental and physical toll together and cumulative effect too - 2022 isn’t that long ago.
Glad to hear it was caught early - I would take it easy and rest all you need. Good luck with the radiotherapy next week. X

  • Thanks bobof. I appreciate your reply.

I shall give myself a break, what you said was absolutely spot on.

    Stay well.x
