I've on cycle 3 of abemaciclib and I've noticed my eyelashes and eyebrows are thinning.

Has shone else had this and did it last

  • Hello I'm on cycle 6 now I have had my dosage reduced to the minimal strength due to horrid side effects  whivh u have now tolerated well.Hur yes my eye lashes are very sparse and I have noticed my hair is thinner too

After loosing both my eyelashes she hair during chemo  I was going to be ok  but it's not looking this way .I'm just hoping it doesn't progress can't further during the next 16 months if taking it !!

  • My hair, eyebrows and lashes hsve thinned- they had come back after chemotherapy. I’m finishing abemaciclib in 8 days so I’ll be finding out about how far they’ll come back. I think they will, though my eyelashes and brows were thinner anyway than they’d been when I was young. I was 69 at the start of cancer treatment 3 years ago- now about to be 72 at the end of this month.

  • I have noticed this too after 2 cycles - they had only just got full again after chemo !!! Hoping it will settle and not get too much worse . Good luck and hope for the best I think Thinking

  • What do you call a cycle? a month?

  • Hi all,

just to say I needed a few weeks break (only on 50mg dose anyway) for nose bleeds, an increase of hypertension and then a couple of falls. I noticed a definite increase of feet and ankle pain and decided it was due to the sensations difference as the Abemaciclib left my system. Numbness isn’t listed in side effects on the leaflets in the box, the cancer unit pharmacist hadn’t heard of it either. I ended up finding that pain reduced again as I got back onto the drug, and sensations in my legs and feet decreased again. So I’ve filled out the Govt yellow form, to hopefully get it listed as a warning.

so. For anyone else noticing this, I’d urge you to fill out the yellow form too, it’s very easy and straightforward to do it on line.

    hugs xxx
