It's back

Hi Trigsgirl  sorry to hear this.  I have same with mets in pelvis, hips rib and spine.  At night I am constantly turning over to get comfortable.  The pain does get better though and I take tramadol for it.  I am having exemastane, ribociclib and denosumab.  It has been just over one year now on treatment and cancer is now stable so that is good.  Good luck on Monday, take someone with you.

Hi Trigsgirl. 

I am sorry to hear your cancer has spread to your bones. I have a different breast cancer (TNBC) and a different metastasis site (liver) but can remember the terror of finding it had spread. Like you, I didn’t have any lymph node involvement. Many of us live relatively normally with secondary cancer. There are treatments these days, especially for oestrogen driven breast cancer, that can make it like living with a chronic disease. Hopefully your oncologist will be able to keep your cancer stable and also find a way of helping with pain and mobility. 

Hi, so happy that it is stable, Tramadol didn't even touch my pain, so gave me oramorph,  still not good, hopefully oncologist will give me something to help .

I've recently been diagnosed Boney mets,spine i think....I was supposed to have weekly chemo but my haemoglobin and platelets keep dropping so have been unable to start, I am starting tamoxifen and having target radiotherapy for the pain as it is mainly in my legs I'm on gabapentin and Morphine sulphate....I am still trying to get my head around it all to be honest...

I had breast cancer in 2017 just found out in October 2025 that it I had advanced stage 4 mets in my lungs and lymph nodes. I started on ribiciclib and fulvestarant in December and I had a CT scan in march. Just been told that the cancers have grown. I am going to have another CT scan in may so hopefully it will be under control. I don't know what is next if ribiciclib is not working. Like you I am very worried as I have just found a swelling in my neck. I will report it to the doctor on Monday.

Hope you got it sorted, I will be starting treatment on Monday 11th, Palbociclib, Denosumab and Fulvestrant, will be having a hip replacement in a couple of months,  then radiotherapy,

I had an email from the oncologists secretary the doctor will take a look at my neck at my next appointment which will be on the 20th may. I don't think that my CT scan results will be back by then .

I am pleased to hear that you will be starting treatment on Monday 11th. Good luck with that.

Hi Rosepetal.  I have secondary breast cancer and on ribociclib, exemastane and denosumab.  I also had a lump on my neck, oncologist sent me for an ultrasound scan,  luckily it is just a cyst.  Good luck for Monday Trigsgirl.

Hi Lee, I have just had a call from the radiology department and they have brought my scan forward. I am going in this afternoon. I have my oncologist appointment on the 20th I hope that I can get some good news.

I have been told that they can not cure me but they are hoping to slow it down. 

Lee how long have you been on ribiciclib?

Hi Pauline.  I have been on ribociclib for about 18 months now.  It is working for me my cancer is stable and one of the tumors in my skull was not even seen on the last PET scan, so good news.  Good luck this afternoon please let me know how you get on.
