I had a prosthesis before my breast cancer diagnosis, and I underwent a mastectomy on one side. Now, I need to have a breast reconstruction, but I’ve heard that the NHS won’t perform any procedures on the non-affected breast for symmetry purposes due to the implant I had before. As a result, I would need to seek private treatment. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Hi Panne
I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and that you needed a mastectomy. While I haven't been in similar position I noticed that you haven't had any replies yet so I thought that I'd reply to you to move you to the top of the discussion. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with some answers for you.
Best wishes
