I had a right mastectomy just Iver 2 years ago,  then 8 chemotherapy and 15 radiotherapy.  I have just found a lump in my collarbone and it's back! DisappointedDisappointed I've had a CT scan and I'm awaiting the results to see if it is elsewhere. I have ER+ HER2 negative cancer. I'm absolutely spiralling that it's gone everywhere and I'm going to die. I'm currently on letrozole and abemaciclib which I've been told to continue taking .  Are there any good stories of people surviving this? I'm afraid to ask!!

  • Hi, so sorry to hear you find yourself in this position, that must be really tough.  I haven’t had this experience myself but I noticed you haven’t had any replies yet so I just wanted to say hello and let you know that someone is out here thinking of you.  Best wishes

  • Hello TeddyTomTom,

I'm so sorry you find yourself in this scary place.

I didn't have exactly the same as you as I had a triple positive cancer, but I did  find myself with a local recurrence before my treatment had been completed 2 years ago. I had had a lumpectomy  and chemotherapy treatment with 5 sessions of radiotherapy and was still going through the targeted treatment and so was pretty devastated to have it back again so soon.

I have since had a mastectomy and a change of hormone treatment and there was no further evidence of disease following various scans and xrays prior to the mastectomy. I don't have any follow up, just have to go to the GP if I have any worrying symptoms.

I hope that all your scan results come back in the clear and that your treatments go smoothly for you.

Take care and sending love and hugs
