Hi all

i I have been on 400mg of Ribociclib & Letrozole since Sept 24. Since then I have had a worsening bad chesty cough which at times gives me an agonising pressure head pain especially as time has gone on. Has anyone else had this & do they have any advice. I’m honestly getting to the end of my tether Disappointed

  • Hi there, I am one of the champions here in this group and I just noticed your post hasn't had any replies yet.  My answer will bump you back to the top of the group and hopefully someone with the relevant experience will be along soon. Best wishes.

  • I too am on Letrozole and Ribociclib,  I was advised by my oncologist to watch out for a cough but the way she described it,  it was more a dry tickle rather than chesty.

She said my partner would be more likely to notice it than me.

If I were you I would get it checked out, you may have a lingering chest infection that due to the medication you can't shift without the help of antibiotics.

Hooe you get it sorted x

  • I really do hope you are feeling a little better, now. Have you mentioned it to your doctor, yet.

I am on Letrozole, and see the oncologist next Weddnesday. But it has been recommended that, then, I take ribociclib.

I will let you know how it goes.

I already find that the Letrozole makes me feel like my breathing is heavier and tighter, although I was told this, before taking it.

I hope your headaches are easier, now.

    Take care.

  • Hi Countrylass

    Thank you for your reply.

Sadly it never seems to improve. The head pain has only been persistent during recent months. I will talk to my new oncologist about it. I did have a CT scan Aug 25 which didn’t show any lung damage. This oncologist is considering repeating it. I just want it to go away!

All the best on letrozole & ribociclib when you start it x

  • Hi Harvestmoon

It has been much worse in last few weeks as I did have a chest infection that I took antibiotics for. That part feels ok now but the cough has gone back to how it was since Sept 24. Not as chesty but still a big hacking cough.

    Thanks x

  • Thank you, will let you know how it goes, after having taken it, for a while. I hope the symptoms lesson, very soon. Look after yourself

  • Hi, I'm new here. I have joined because of my worsening side effects. I'm on ribociclib and fulvestrant, I'm on my 12th cycle and I'm feeling terrible. I have nothing at all up until 4 months ago, now I have a hacking cough, pain in my head that feels like a migraine and I'm terribly sick everyday.

  • That sounds horrendous,  I hope you have discussed this with your oncologist,  they should be able to prescribe anti sickness medication and maybe pain relief.

    Please don't suffer in silence.

I am on my 8th cycle and apart from feeling old and achy, occasional hot flushes and a bit tired think I am surviving quite well.

I hope you get something sorted soon x
