Hello everyone, I found out today that, despite an MRI showing a complete response, I had a tiny amount of residual disease on pathology so will need Kadcyla. I am absolutely devastated and literally feel I have no gas left in the tank to do this. I thought I was done with chemo and the thought of another 10 months of this has got me in utter despair. Can anyone tell me their honest experience of Kadcyla please.
I had this a few years ago. It’s nowhere near as bad as the other chemo, hopefully you won’t even notice side effects, except tiredness. The main issue I had with it was that by that point in treatment I became fearful of the trainee nurses not being able to find my vein, and prod me in the wrong places- which was agony.
Hope it goes okay for you.
Thank you. That’s reassuring. My oncologist tells me it will get me to the same disease free odds as the folks who achieve a PCR and continue with Phesgo. I am holding on to that. Just so frustrated that I so nearly achieved that PCR but not quite and now I am back on chemo lite. Ugh. But your message has made me feel better so thank you.
Your message about the trainee nurses made me giggle. My veins are a wreck but luckily I have a port. However when they try to find a vein for my MRI it’s carnage!
