Ok so I'm totally spiralling. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. I've had a right mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and I'm currently on letrozole and prostap and Abimaciclib. I'm having a left mastectomy after Christmas due to a pal2b gene. On 12th Nov last week I had a mammogram on my left boob and today received an online appointment to see medical oncology on 17th December, who I wasn't due to see until after Christmas, (i usually see him every 2/3 months). Now I'm panicking that there's cancer in the remaining boob. Would they send me to the breast care unit for further testing or to medical oncology? Has the oncologist made me another appointment because I've halved my tablets and he wants to see how I am on them... I just don't know what the procedures are. Thanks
I would expect to see the breast care/surgery team for anything to do with a mammogram.
If you’ve had a lower dose recently of one of your meds (abemaciclib ? ) it seems likely to me that medical oncology team would wish to check bloods and well-being to see how you are. I would try to ask the oncology nurse team if they can let you know anything.
