hi everyone I’ve posted before about having METAPLASTIC breast cancer that has now metastasized to my lungs I was told I potentially only have a year and I’m a single mum to a almost 3 year old.
Today I met with the consultant at St Barts hospital  for talks about the new trial called the Diamond trial it’s a new kind of immunotherapy called Durvalumab either on its own or with Datopotamab deruxtecan .

He said it’s having good results potentially better than the sacituzab but they haven’t treated many cases where cancer has spread within 6 months. I’m so scared I thought I’d feel more hopeful after speaking to him but I really don’t. Has anyone else had their cancer spread so quickly and are having good results with other treatments?

  • Hi, I’m sorry to read this. I have a friend who was diagnosed May 2022. She had chemo, a mastectomy and axillary clearance, and radiotherapy. However, by the December (2022) she had metastasised to her lung, and it was growing. I remember her being quite breathless then. She then had successful lung surgery. After that she started immunotherapy (not the one you mention) and is still on that. She is stable, no longer breathless,  and the lung tumour has not returned. Xx

  • That is good to hear thank you, unfortunately they can’t operate on mine as it’s in both lungs. I have no symptoms at all which is making this so much harder to get my head around
