Am i expecting my chemo brain ( sometimes get confused or forgetful ) affect me after treatments and does radiotherapy have any side effects i should be aware of and how many sessions should i be expecting.my plan is to look for work

  • Hi, I didn't have any side effects from radiotherapy (except some late effects of lymphoedema) but some people do report tiredness from this treatment. The number of sessions can vary, I had 15, so every weekday for 3 weeks. Worth bearing in mind if you're looking for work is that radiotherapy is a bit disruptive as you have to go every day, though the treatment itself is short. Hope this helps, best wishes

  •   Did your Lymphodema resolve after you finished radiotherapy? Did you have any problems with Lymphodema prior to radiotherapy? Just had a lumpectomy and node clearance and expecting radiotherapy before Christmas.Just really hoping I don’t develop Lymphodema.

  • Hi, I had no lymphoedema before radiotherapy and it's developed in my breast area since. I use cream and massage (though I know I could do this more regularly) and it's no better but no worse either.   It doesn’t impact my daily life. Just a little tender and slightly swollen. Best wishes
