I have grade 3 IDC TNbC . My tumour was large at over 8 x 4 cm and after paxitaxol and Carboplatin 12 weeks it reduced to 5 x 3 cm which at the time I was delighted with.I had a 3rd scan today as I'm half way through EC and it's only had a slight change in size 4.9 x 2.3 cm- I was positive it had reduced as I no longer could feel it - so its def softer and breast shape, size and feeling is so much softer . Really shocked with lack of progress - should I be so deflated.

  • I’m on the same path with a large tumour. Are you going to have paclitaxol as well?

  • I had that first and it reduced from 8cm x 4cm to 5cm x 3 cm on that . So was pleased with that part it's the EC I really believed it was working so shocked it hasn't reduced in size by much as I now can't feel it

  • Hi there. I also had a very large tumour which had attached onto one of my muscles. I was opposite from you. I had three cycles of EC first then paclitaxel for 5 cycles. After even 1 cycle of EC, the pain I had been feeling was gone so I was delighted it was working. After my 5th cycle of Chemotherapy I could no longer feel the lump, even if I had a good rummage around for it so I was disappointed to learn  from a scan that it was still quite large.

Good news though is that it had reduced enough that I needed a lumpectomy and not a mastectomy.

You still have time for it to reduce so try and keep positive. Good luck for your treatment and recovery.

  • Thanks Lovely

Consultant still talking about breadt co serving surgery - he was positve .

Breast is so.much softer over all.

  • I’ve had my 3 EC and 12 pax to go . Due for an mri in a few weeks to see what’s happening.
hopefully yours will be a lumpectomy then .
I’ll have to wait and see.
wishing you luck and love on your journey
