Scans you’re meant to have halfway through chemo?

Hi, new user here to apologies if this exists somewhere else. I’m currently cycle 3 of 6 of chemo for HER2.  I’m confused over what scans I should be getting now? I’ve had MRI appt but not a CT scan (which I had before I started) is this normal or should I have been sent that too?

thanks for any advice

  • Hi JH7500

There's not much difference between a mri and a ct scan, either one or the other will usually do.

Wishing you the best of luck with your mri and with the rest of your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Hi, I had 6 cycles of TCHP chemo. 3 weeks apart, before surgery. Halfway through I had an MRI to see how the chemo was working, in other words, had the lump changed and shrunk.  I had another MRI after chemo before surgery.   Hope this helps reassure you. Best wishes
