Seroma

I had a drain taken out about two years ago, I got a seroma and an infection after it.   to clear up as did the seroma.  I ended up in hospital and was put on IV Antibiotics for over a week followed by tablets.  It took about two weeks to clear up.

I had a 2nd WLE 31st July and my breast after a week was very swollen, very painful. I asked my BCN what to do and she said it's normal take painkillers. I went on a short break to Wales and ended up in A&E at the weekend - nobody knew what to do.  The swelling was so bad the seroma liquid came out of my wound and partially opened it again - I was in the hospital on an IV drip for 24 hours and then antibiotics for a week - the antibiotic cleared it up and I finally got to see my surgeon on the Tuesday.  It's all sorted now but it was so awful. 

I would go back and get it drained again as if you leave it, it could end up leaking through the wound.
