Chemo stopped early?!

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone else has not been able to complete chemotherapy.

I have had a nightmare ride with it so far and back at the are we continuing or not point, I have only had 2 x ec and 2 x weekly paclitaxol - paclitaxol I can’t continue with due to neuropathy which ec has now flared too so they may just stop it I am only 39 and whilst this is mop up chemo daunting to think I’ve done hardly any of the 4 x ec and 12 paclitaxol initially prescribed!

Have you tried a reduced dose? You could ask.

Hi Summer39,

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with Chemo. It’s awful that this treatment causes so many other problems, especially as you are so very young.
I had 3 EC then 1 Docetaxel. Within less than a week I was rushed into hospital with large blood clots in my lungs and pressing on my heart. It was so scary. The 2nd to last Chemo dose was reduced and I refused the last one.
I hope they can find an alternative for you to have with less side effects. Sending love and hugs your way xx

Yes, the second paclitaxol I had was a 50% dose and then the ec I’ve just had was a 10% dose, in triple positive so I am lucky to have other treatments after chemo but still doesn’t do much for the recurrence concern
