Hi everyone ,sorry to jump on this post but just need someone to talk to might be nothing I know but I’m driving myself crazy. I had a ct scan for my kidney and they saw an inaccidental finding of left side breast nodule which was discussed at mdt meeting and recommendation was to be referred to breast clinic for mammogram. My appointment came through quick within a week on a Sunday. I went to clinic had examination one lady said she thought it was fatty then another lady did ultra sound not mammogram like stated in the letter. The lady took lots of photos and pulled a face which caused bit of anxiety I asked if it bad she said no she sure it’s adenoma but recommends to have I biopsy I had 3 samples taken. The lady reassured me she think it adenine I was was told that I would get my results with in 2 weeks and I might want bring some one for support so now I am over thinking if they know more and are just being nice she kept rubbing my arm telling me to try not to worry. She also said that when I go back I will have to have a mammogram as there was few lumps. I’m confused why they didn’t take a mammogram in first place as that was the recommendation in first place. Has anyone else had similar experience. TIA
Hi, my experience was a mammogram following by ultrasound followed by biopsy and that was how I first got my diagnosis. However, I have had an ultrasound on its own to investigate a specific lump after my surgery. Have you been given the contact for a BCN (breast care nurse) yet? If so would be worth asking. Best wishes
Hi thank you for your reply I’m just waiting on the results of the biopsy they have given me card with details to speak to someone for support .she did say they think it’s adenoma but maybe I’m over thinking because the lady said when I come to get my results I might want bring someone for support so that threw me and her saying when I go back I need a mammogram I just don’t get why they didn’t do it when I when I was at the clinic and surely a ct scan would of been able to show what it could be. Sorry to hear you’re going through this hope you are as well as can be. How are you feeling? X
Hi Kbrighton, I had same treatment as Irishgirl16, mammogram, ultrasound and then biopsy when I first got diagnosed. Not sure why they did ultrasound first, I would ring the number they gave you. Good luck x
