I was treated for early stage breast cancer a year ago ..mastectomy, lymph node clearance and now on anastrozole for 7 years.
I only had one infusion of zoledronic acid as I had a very bad arthritic flare up and was in tremendous pain for over a week .I discussed this with my oncologist I I made the decision to stop the treatment.
however after talking to my breast surgeon during my annual check up I have realised that zoledronic acid is very successful at stopping bone metastases. I was wondering whether to re start but after doing extensive research I have found that injections of Denosunab are also very effective.
Has anyone gone down that route ? And what was your experience?
Hi, I haven't but I did want to say that I had horrid side effects (really bad flu, couldn't get out of bed) from my first zoledronic acid and absolutely none from the subsequent ones. It's strange stuff. Best wishes
