Hello - new to this! I have had a breast cancer diagnosis - and my Doctor at the Breast Clinic has indicated that it is likely to be chemo first to shrink - then surgery, though not confirmed. Have been having additional tests / scans etc - when she has all the information a plan will be discussed at next appt on 8th July. However have just had a letter pop up on NHS app - for the 3rd July - to meet with the Medical Oncology Team. The letter contains no information - just wondered what this might be for... it seems the wrong order - not that I know of course, all guess work. My Breast Cancer nurse is on leave, and quite hard to get information out of. Would really appreciate others experience of what this might be.

thanks so much

  • The medical oncology team are the people who will oversee and organise your chemo. Your first appointment is likely to give you information about the chemo they propose - the drugs, the cycles, the practical arrangements etc.
