Hair condition after radiation

Hi,

I finished 10 sessions of radiotherapy about 3 weeks ago. I’ve noticed that my hair has become limp and greasy ( something that never usually happens).
Has anyone experienced this or similar ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Due to being on Oestrogen blockers which is more likely the cause I’m not sure which shampoos may help ?

  • Hi Love being a Nan welcome to the forum. I had the same situation after Radiotherapy and my hairdresser said it can take a few months after treatment finishes to get back to normal.  They advised me to use baby shampoo as it is gentle on the hair and the scalp. Gail x

  • Thankyou for the reply. I’ve been using baby shampoo from the beginning but now it’s very greasy whereas my hair is usually dry. It’s reassuring that it hopefully will return to its natural condition thanks

  • Mine has but it does take time. Mine took a full year before it was 100% back to before radiotherapy.. I'm the exact opposite my hair was always a bit greasy but now dry. Xxx Gail x

  • Hi

I’ve been using the Simple shampoo and conditioner which does seem to be helping

  • Hi

I finished 10 sessions of zapping back in March this year but I did lose all my hair in chemotherapy. Its just started to grow back at the end of February. I alternate between Garnier hair food and Johnsons baby shampoo. A friend who is a nurse, did suggest hair vitamin gummies so I've been taking Superdrug hair vitamin gummies and it seems to be thickening my hair as it grows Slight smile
