Hello, wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I had a biopsy on 7th May on a fibroadenoma I’ve had for quite some time, it wasn’t the reason I attended the breast clinic but they advised they would biopsy for reassurance purposes as I am over 30 now, radiologist said nothing concerning was showing on ultrasound. I was told 2-4 weeks for results, would be a phone call to either give results or to book follow up. On 16th May I got a notification in the evening that a follow up apt had been booked for 29th. I have had no written or verbal confirmation of this and my GP says they have not received any results. Breast clinic are not getting back to me although one lady said that she was surprised I would have been made an apt as results take 2-4 weeks so they would have not been back by 16th which is when the notification came through. I’m confused with having no verbal or written follow up and wonder if it has been provisionally booked in. Also of course worried with the idea of needing to go back in. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Thank you in advance :)
Hi Barony92 welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear how worried that you are. I have discovered to my peril that sometimes what hospitals say and how the internal systems work are 2 different things. When you got that notification on the evening was it in a text message? It's just that our hospital is using text messages with appointments attached when you log in to a secure site. It saves them sending paper letters out. Is that a possibility for this scenario..it is always a worrying time waiting to go back to clinics and you are not alone there..I hope you get answers soon. Best wishes Gail
Hi Granny59 :) Thanks for taking the time to reply. No it was only on my NHS app. All other appointments at my hospital have been made over the phone with a letter to confirm, as I am wondering if I did not use the app, how would I know about it. I agree, it is hard to make sense of it. I was told I would be contacted via telephone even if it to arrange a follow up so I am still hoping a call will come. Thanks again
