I've just had my 3rd radiotherapy treatment (I was diagnosed with bc in December and had lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed in February) and have to say I'm not feeling great. Really lethargic and generally feeling out of sorts. I'm trying to follow hospital's advice of just going about normal day-to-day stuff and light exercise but just can't be bothered. I was expecting some fatigue etc but didn't think it would start so soon. Wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?
Hi HeatherLassie , keeping your fluids up is supposedly key to reducing fatigue. I was recommended raw coconut water as it contains certain nutrients that are depleted by radiotherapy.
I found radiotherapy much harder than my surgeries - physically and mentally. Look after yourself and take it easy if you need to. Maybe also mention it to the radiotherapy team - they may have some tips.
Take care x
Hi bobof
Thank you! I might say to the radiotherapy team today just to see if they have any advice. Good tip about the coconut water, thanks. I did drink more water later yesterday which seemed to help so must try to drink more today. I'm definitely feeling the radiotherapy is more gruelling than surgery. x
