Hi all

i was wondering what results get relayed back from the surgery I worried about what they are likely to tell me ?

  • After surgery you will be told the confirmed type, grade and size of the tumour, whether there were clear margins achieved and if/how many lymph nodes were involved. I was told a stage too, but it seems many hospitals don’t refer to staging any more. These final results will inform the rest of your treatment plan.

Best of luck with your results. x

  • Thanks for getting back to me that’s a help to know

  • Can I ask how long from diagnosis to surgery it was for you. I had grading and first meeting to tell me my type after first biopsy was done

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • Hi this is what I have. I had chemo first 12 weeks weekly and then 3 weekly for 4 sessions but couldn’t finish them all so going straight for surgery now. Booked in for three weeks time.

good luck. I know it’s scary but treatment and research now is great.

  • I had 18 weeks of chemo and then had to wait a further 4 for surgery they like you to have a few weeks between both to recover

  • Thanks you so much for information all the best for your surgery.

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • Hi I have the same diagnosis, TNBC grade three.  I have had lumpectomy and I am currently  5 days on from my second round of chemo.  I have two more rounds (3 weekly intervals) and then 5 radiotherapy sessions.   I was told the type and grade prior to my lumpectomy.   Additional information following lumpectomy was around whether there was lymph node involvement and if the margins were clear.  Hope this helps and wishing you a smooth journey.
