Hi I’ve been diagnosed with TNBC I have one just over a cm tumour and one node, had first chemo session yesterday, everything I read about this cancer seems negative Cry

  • Hi

I was diagnosed with TNBC in April 2022 and had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It might all seem daunting at the start but you'll be in very good hands and breast cancer survival is far better now than it ever was.

How did your first chemo go? Hopefully you're not struggling with any side effects.

I've had 2 clear mammograms since finishing my treatment and will be going for my third one soon. Hopefully I'm living proof that having a TNBC diagnosis is definitely not all doom and gloom.

  • Hi Anne

Thank you so much for this - it really helps to hear positivity!!
im having the 6 months of chemo then op and planned for radiotherapy afterwards.

So pleased you are clear, it went ok - cold cap was the hardest bit!!
can I ask you what tumour, nodes you had please? X

  • I have TNBC stage 3.. chemo and then surgery and radiotherapy. After my 12 weeks of weekly chemo I had a scan and it had gone from 2.8cm to 0! It’s great to see results. There is so much treatment and research into this type of cancer.
keep strong and remember you have got this. It will be hard but all worth it! Take care

  • Ah this is fantastic to hear Ok hand it really helps to talk to people so reassuring - thank you - yes we have got this!!

  • My tumour was Stage 1 Grade 3 and I had micro metastases in one of the lymph nodes removed.

I had a lumpectomy to remove the tumour and an area of DCIS, followed by 3 cycles of EC, 3 weeks apart, 12 weeks of paclitaxel and then 10 sessions of radiotherapy.
