Radiotherapy & skin creams

I had an appointment last week to discuss radiotherapy and was told I should use Aveeno cream & just to get the basic one as opposed to any fancy creams. I looked today and had a choice of "body lotion" or "moisturising cream". Wasn't sure which to get & wondered if anyone has used this and has any advice.

  • I’m using the lotion and it lovely. Not too thick but thick enough

  • Thank you!! That's good to know. x

  • Hi  , I mainly used Aveeno from recommendations here. I can’t remember what it was called but it had a green label! I also used aloe Vera gel sometimes which I kept in the fridge for the cooling effects, but found it a bit tacky on the skin later in my treatment for some reason so then just used Aveeno. Good luck with it! Xxx

  • Hi HappyFeet1

Thank you! I think that's the body lotion as the moisturising cream has a blue label. Hoping all goes OK with radiotherapy. Still waiting for dates but should be towards end March.

    Hope you're doing ok too.

  • Hi. I started with Aveeno after radiotherapy and it was ok, but then had a free sample of Moo Goo Skin restore udder cream from the charity Little Lifts (they send out boxes for people having radiotherapy and chemotherapy) and it's lovely. No smell, light and sinks in well too. It's not cheap but the big bottle lasts about 3 months, using it twice a day.

    Hope your radiotherapy goes well.
