I have to make up my mind about whether to re start abemaciclib and can't decide, I am worried about being vulnerable to infections as it lowers the white cell count and immunity to any infections.
Hi there, it's really difficult when we have such big decisions to make isn't it? Sometimes I wish the medical team would just tell us what we need. Maybe it's worth talking through the pros and cons with your medical team and see if that helps you reach a decision. Best wishes
Thank you, my oncologist has been very good, and has left it to me to decide. I suppose as I didn't have chemo because I am nearly 77, quality of life is so important, I was worried about being immunosuppressed, but they are very good at taking blood to check my white cell count to keep an eye on that, so I think I will go back on abemaciclib if I don't get too many side effects, as two years is a long time at my age to feel rough with my other health issues.
