Hi all, I have been on Tamoxifen for 3 and a half years and the weight gain is really getting me down.
I have been following the Slimming World plan for just over 2 weeks and have gained 2lbs in this time. I lost 2 stone with Slimming World before diagnosis. I have alsoincreased my levels of physical activity, I just cannot get any weight to shift.
Has anyone any suggestions/ideas/recommendations?
I'm becoming desperate enough to consider quitting the Tamoxifen.
Many thanks,
Lynne
Hi LHM
I strongly suspect that the 2lbs you put on was muscle mass if you have increased your physical activity.
What you're experiencing is the effect of menopause and the weight gain that comes with this, unfortunately - but it can be overcome.
If you keep with your Slimming World and exercise routine, I guarantee that you will find that you will be 'trimmer' - the weight in itself isn't important as muscle weighs more than fat.
Don't be downhearted and give it a good period of time before you even consider your options with Tamoxifen.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
