Hair removal under arm after lymph nodes removed - arm pit has a little dent now

Thanks !

  • Hi.  My son & DiL bought me a cancer care pack from MooGoo, the moisturiser was lovely.  It's not cheap though.

  • Hi

When I went along to the meeting to chat about Radiotherapy, they said they advise to use whatever you use normally. If your skin is happy and it doesn’t irritate, then use would you would normally.

They did say tho to avoid shaving/hair removal creams though whilst treatment is going on.

hope that helps a little xx

  • Hi. I'm still to have my radiotherapy,  but have found Aveeno moisturiser and soap free body washes good since my mastectomy op.

I was given the advice that an electric razor might be better than a wet razor for underarms, as less likely to nick and better to help avoid possible lymphoedema.

    All the best.

  • Hello there - wishing you lots of good wishes as you start radiotherapy - I have just finished five weeks of daily radiotherapy post surgery (axilliary lymph node full clearance/dissectoin) and can higly recommend daily application AFTER each radiotherapy dose (not just before - don't apply anything before it) of Aloe Vera Gel and Aveeno intense hydration cream (which is about £5 to £7 a tube and lasts ages) in addition - game changer here was using Dove soap rather than any harsher alternatives - all three have served me brilliantly. Radiotherapy staff are genuinely lovely people they'll really look after you well - don't be afraid to ask the team anything they're a good lot. Every sucess to you
