Hello, I'm new to the community. I'm 38 with young children. I had a single masectomy with immediate diep 3 weeks ago. I'm HER2+ high grade dcis. I had 96mm dcis with 2mm invasion in one part and 1.5mm invasion in another. I'm seeing an oncologist next year to see if I need further treatment so I'm still in the dark. Can anyone who has hsd a similar diagnose tell me about theirs. Did you need chemo/radio/herceptin? I'm wondering what the chances of recurrence are also with it being her2+ but I have had a masectomy. Thank you
Thanks for the reply. I'm from ireland. The consultant is sending me to 2 oncologists. One is for radio and one is for chemo. I suppose I'll know more when I see them and what they think is best. It's the fact it's so small has me wondering if there's a point for chemo. The thing I'm worried about is that it's her2. Obviously the invasion isn't great but I know I'm lucky it's so small and my lymph nodes were clear
Hi Laurrrrrrr24
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have diagnosed with high grade dcis. I don't know what the chances of recurrence with her2 is maybe ask the chemo oncologist when you see them. Whether or not you need chemo will depend on size of the tumour As far as I am aware you may need herceptin because of being her2 positive but again only your oncologist can answer that one.
Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment in the new year and I hope you have a lovely Christmas.
Best wishes

Hi
I had 75mm high grade DCIS with some micro invasions, largest being 3.5mm. They only found the micro invasions in the post surgery biopsy. My treatment plan was mastectomy with 5 sessions of radiotherapy. ( No chemo). I was triple negative so didn’t have hormone treatment. There’s. PREDICT tool you can use which might give you an idea of the chances of reoccurrence but best to ask the consultant.
