Hello! Wondering if anyone could help reassure me?? I had a lumpectomy in the middle of September followed by lymph node axillary clearance 2 weeks later. Unfortunately I've had a lot of problems with my wound healing as developed a large seroma, the wound was open for a while and it is even now open very slightly open after having the wound restitched a few weeks ago. They are finally saying that chemo will start in a couple of weeks but that will be 10 weeks between my lumpectomy and chemotherapy starting and I was originally told it would be about 6 so stressed about the delay! Margins were clear from my lumpectomy and although 4 lymph nodes had cancer in original lumpectomy the rest were clear in the axillary clearance. Has anybody had this kind of delay and can reassure me??
Hi. I had my lumpectomy at the end of June and due go NHS delays and the cock up with the oncotyping dx result I didn't start chemo until 1 October. The oncologist said ideally it's 6 weeks but that it's OK to be later. I didn't even get my post op results until 6 weeks post op.
