Hi, after a routine mammogram I was called back and over the space of 3 weeks had 3 different biopsies (2 needle 1 vacuum) I was recalled a week later to be given the news of DCIS in 3 areas which was a shock. 2 weeks later I underwent surgery for a left mastectomy, I was still very calm and just accepted it would be over now surgery had taken place. 3 weeks later I went back to see the consultant who informed me on pathology of my removed breast and was told they had found other areas with HER2+. Unsure of next step but scared I might need chemo
Hi BigT
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer. The chances are that you will need chemo because of HER2 Positive result. While the thoughts of chemo is scary while it's not easy it is doable. Your medical team will do everything in their power to make sure that you come through chemo ok.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever comes next for you.
Best wishes
