Hello, my mum is about to start chemo for breast cancer and I’ve read conflicting things about Life Mel honey for side effects. Does anyone have any experience of taking it and did it help with boosting white blood cells and generally feeling a bit better? Thank you
Hi Anon
i used Mel life honey and didn’t encounter any problems and my white count didn’t drop very much at all .Hope you’re mum gets on okay with her chemo it’s not nice but doable .Bedt wishes to you all .
Worth checking with the oncologist in case it interferes with how the chemo works.
Anything that is really good at keeping chemo effects at bay is potentially because the chemo loses it's efficacy. High antioxidants, for example, can apparently counteract what the chemo is doing, which means it won't do its job as well.
Unfortunately, chemo kills healthy cells as well as the cancer. We feel rubbish but we bounce back.
