Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has specifically been on Zoladex with another medication (Exemestane, astrodome etc) and stopped the other medication but stayed only on the Zoladex? This would be in women that are pre menopausal.
Hi there, I can't answer your question myself, but I noticed you haven't had any replies yet and as the site is quite busy, your post has dropped down. My response will bump you back to the top and hopefully some of the lovely folks on here will be along soon with some answers. Best wishes.
Thank you. I’d be really interested to know if anyone has done this and their experience

As I understand it , the zoladex shuts down your ovaries to make you post menopausal . The body then makes a lower , less potent form of oestrogen in fat and adrenals via aromatase.
The Anastazole stops your body doing this .
so, you still need hormone therapy ( the opposite of HRT ). Assuming your breast cancer was oestrogen positive …
Hi, I was just looking for anyone who has done only Zoladex without anything else.
Yes that’s correct. I was looking to see if anyone has only had Zoladex and stopped the other medication.
Hi, I’ve been on Letrozole, tamoxifen, Exemestane and now anastrozole. They all pretty much had the same side effects. I found each time I changed one side effect would get a bit better but then I’d get a new one. But I’d say it’s always worth trying.
So I have only had zoladex with nothing else but klf is right and that’s why they then added letrozole for me.
I’ve only just started it ( like a week in) and I’ve only noticed a new nausea. The zoladex on its own was giving me joint pain, ( but I was also still having chemo ) hot flushes and quite bad irritability ( dare I say these have settled).
sorry I’m not much help. It’s all a bit much I feel sometimes, like chemo and radiotherapy might be done but still tablet after tablet. I have to have targeted therapy for 12 months after as well ( feels like normalaity is nowhere near )
Hi! I have only taken the drug letrozole myself, but I can try to give advice in your situation. If you plan to stay on Zoladex alone, it is important to discuss this with your doctor, as stopping taking other medications such as Exemestane may affect the effectiveness of treatment. Zoladex lowers estrogen levels, which is useful in your case, but it is important that hormone levels are controlled to avoid side effects or relapse.
Your doctor may suggest hormone monitoring or additional support measures. Also, do not forget to buy such drugs only in reliable pharmacies for the best effect.
Discuss your concerns with your doctor to find the safest and most effective treatment plan.
