Good morning ladies, I finished stage 3 treatment less than a year ago. I changed my job to an easier one. I have just been diagnosed with numerous mets now and was just wondering if people are still managing to work, I am feeling really unwell and just starting some treatment, just wondering about people’s experience Tia

  • Hello Penelope1234567,

Sorry to hear about your Mets diagnosis and I know the treatments can be difficult at times.  Thank God there are more treatments available all the time.  I read that 30% of women diagnosed with BC go on to develop metastatic disease so work to be done.  I cannot give you personal experience but my friend’s daughter has Mets from BC to her bones, lung and liver.  She is a dental hygienist and her oncologist said no work now as she is too compromised and doesn’t want her to work.  She is on abemaciclib and an AI.  I don’t know what else.  She is 48 and right now doing pretty well on the meds so that is wonderful.  Should check with your oncologist and see what he wants you  to do.  Can you work from home?  Flexible hours etc.  I hope your treatment puts you in remission.  Take care and cancer sucks!!  Hugs to you.
