Radiotherapy... nipple loss.

Hi SarahJane and welcome to the forum. Im not aware that not having a nipple will affect the Radiotherapy in anyway. I dont know enough about the nipple removal part but Im sure one of the other lovely folks on here will be along soon with their thougths.

I had my nipple removed and had radio about 3 months later! Didn’t affect the therapy in any way! I know everybody is different but hopefully u will find it is the same for you️ X

Hi SarahJane I recently finished 5 days of radiotherapy after having a mastectomy and reconstruction (including having my nipple removed). I was told as long as the area was well enough healed it was good to go. I hope your treatment goes well.

I Had my nipple removed and a round of radiation and I was absolutely fine. I finished my treatment end of November last year 2024. I was nervous, it’s only natural to have a few worries and doubts. I hope this story of mine will ease your worries. Good luck and be positive, I wish you all the best x

Recently my surgeon said we might have to remove my areola as a last resort. This is due to my nipple and areola being inflamed and swollen, it has not gone away after my radiation ended in January.
