Morning all. Just a quick question. Im due to start radiotherapy soon. Awaiting first appointment with the radiographer. I had my nipple removed during my lumpectomy and i was wandering how this will effect my radiotherapy treatment. Has anyone else had radiotherapy and nipple removed. Thankyou all xxx
Hi Sara
I Had my nipple removed and a round of radiation and I was absolutely fine. I finished my treatment end of November last year 2024. I was nervous, it’s only natural to have a few worries and doubts. I hope this story of mine will ease your worries. Good luck and be positive, I wish you all the best x

Recently my surgeon said we might have to remove my areola as a last resort. This is due to my nipple and areola being inflamed and swollen, it has not gone away after my radiation ended in January.
