Just been referred re breast mass. What happens at 1st visit to breast cancer clinic please?
Morning Ewok
You'll likely be given a physical examination by a doctor and then sent for a mammogram and ultrasound. If they see anything that they need to check out, they will take a biopsy there and then - at least that was my experience. Then usually a two week wait for results. The staff at my local Breast Clinic were so kind in what was a really worrying time. Good luck with everything x
Hi, I was there nearly 3 hours for my 1st appointment.
I was seen by a consultant, had a mammogram, ultrasound, 3 biopsies taken, another mammogram and back to the consultant.
I had an MRI scan later the same week and then a 2 week wait for results.
The waiting is the worst bit I'd say. Best of luck x
Yep, allow 3 ish hours as they do scans and biopsies if needed. X
