Hi I went for a radiotherapy consult today and was discussing the next step when the consultant told me I actually had two different cancers within the breast one tumour was invasive lobular cancer and the other was invasive ductal cancer. I was quite taken aback by this as I had not been told this by my surgeon or oncologist whilst having chemotherapy. Has anyone else been told they have more than one type?
Yes, I have invasive lobular er+ pr+ her-, also had a separate area of dcis and when they did my lumpectomy they found an unrelated tumour in my lymph node that was her + which has meant my plan changed from just radiotherapy to chemotherapy aswell. It's a horrible disease, sending positive thoughts to you xx
