Hello everyone, this is a return visit that I was hoping would not happen. I was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer in 2015. Underwent surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. Subsequent mammograms were clear until a suspicious area was found on my mammogram in October. It was cancer again in a different breast and different type NST, which is apparently very common type. I’ve just had a lumpectomy and meeting with my consultant in 3 weeks. On the positive side it’s a different type and half the size of the first one. I am asking for advice from anyone who’s been in the same situation. It’s a scary situation as my mum died from breast cancer which came back after being cleared.

  • Hi Bandale

Sirry to hear that you are back on the cancer thread-mill again. The same happened to me. I was first diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in my left breast in September 2020 and after a year of treatment I was given the all clear. Everything was ok after my first post cancer mammogram but to my shock I got a call back after my second yearly mammogram. I was subsequently diagnosed with ER & PR Positive cancer in my right breast this time. I had a lumpectomy where they discovered cancer in the lymph node that my surgeon took so I had to have the rest of my lymph nodes removed. I’m having chemo at the moment.

They keep coming up with new treatments all the time, a number of new treatments for breast cancer have come along even since I was first diagnosed over three years ago.

Try to keep yourself busy while you are waiting for your results by doing the things that you love. Get out in the fresh air everyday which is good for your mental health.

Wishing you the best of luck with your results and with whatever comes next for you.

    Best wishes
