Hi everyone
I have been prescribed Letrazole only yesterday and haven't yet taken my first pull
I've read so many negative things about the side effects of this drug and it's really worrying to say the least.
I'm posting this to ask if anyone in here has experienced anything positive about this drug?
What I mean is, has anyone taken it for a while and experienced little, none or only moderate side effects ?
I know we all tend to concentrate sometimes on the negatives, it's inevitable, but I'm hoping some of us have had more positive experiences as well.
Thanks to you all and big hugs xx
Hi Mumpsy
I have taken Letrozole for nearly 2 years and I won't lie I have had side effects but they are so far stiff joints especially after sitting for a while, a little pain in my remaining breast and muscle aches.
I take mine at night? Don't know if it makes a difference when you take it?
The one thing I will warn you off is the different brands. I had the same brand for first 11 months which luckily had only side effects mentioned. It was unobtainable for a while despite phoning around lots of pharmacies. So for 3 months I took a different brand which resulted in a frozen shoulder which I had a steroid injection in and a tendon problem in my wrist. You may not hit the right brand for you first time but it's trial and error different brands have the same drug in but fillers, colours and preservatives are what cause different side effects.
I know it sounds a little negative but I have 8 1/2 years to go and I will keep taking it as I know it will help prevent a reaccurance and that ti me is worth it.
I am 67 and walk everyday exercise does help good luck my friend we have got this .

Hi - I was given my first prescription of this too yesterday however I’ve got to wait 2/3 weeks as it’s been a week since my final chemo.
I am going to try and keep positive- I’d heard that keeping active helps so that’s my aim when I start popping them.
I hope you’re ok with taking them too x
I started Letrozole in August, no joint pain but I do get aching muscles and occasional what feels like bone pain. I had my vitamin D levels checked recently before iv zometa and they were a bit low, since upping vit D bone pain has improved. I also try and exercise each day, weather permitting.
Hi, I've been taking this for over 2 years now. I have very minor side effects, just a bit of joint pain which only occurs if I don't do enough exercise, and by that I mean walking, nothing strenuous. I've had two different brands which I seem to tolerate well. Best of luck
