Hi all I had my surgery for breast cancer in June 2022 and finished radiotherapy in the September. This year I have been getting a lot of pain in my neck and difficulty swallowing so had a bone scan, I now have an appointment on the 5th January for an MRI on my sternum. Of course I am now flapping that the cancer has spread and was wondering if anyone else has experience of this happening and what to expect if it has? Thanks for any replies, Kim

  • Hi Kimlou

Sorry to hear you had breast cancer. While I haven)t had your experience I thought I’d reply as I’ve noticed that you haven’t had any replies yet. Hopefully, someone will be along shortly with an answer for you.

  • Hello, yes I have had a bone scan and chest CT scan, due to pain in my back, thank fully al clear, so whilst I can’t help especially, try to stay positive. The medical professionals know what they are doing and sometimes just want to rule things out. Wishing you all the best for your results. Remember to phone your BC nurse as sometimes results can be sitting on the system which they can access early for you.

  • Thank you for replying, I am trying not to dwell on it and hopefully the MRI is just to rule things out

  • Thanks for replying, they have seen something on the bone scan/CT which I am hoping is nothing serious and will just be ruled out by the MRI.
