Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced side affects from taking amebaciclib on their liver function. After a few months of taking the medication my liver function tests started to go wrong. So after a few stop starts they decided to stop the amebaciclib completely. However, my liver results continue to get worse to the point I'm now jaundice. I've had ultrasounds of my liver and hepatitis tests all negative. I'm now being referred to liver specialists. I'm seriously panicking that these results have nothing to do with the amebaciclib and we're just a coincidence and I actually have pancreatic cancer as a secondary diagnosis to my original diagnosis to breast cancer.
I'm going into hospital next week for scans and a CT and I'm proper scared as looking at pancreatic cancer the outlook doesn't look good.
So kinda hoping someone else might have had a similar response to me from the amebaciclib and everything went OK??
Matilda xx
Hi,
I haven't actually started the Abemaciclib yet - however, I had similar with chemo. The team were worried about my liver function and referred me for scans, ultrasound then MRI. Nothing was found so the drugs were to blame and my numbers have since returned to normal.
Hi Matilda, sorry to hear you are having some problems. I can’t advise on the amebaciclib as it’s not something I’m taking. You mention pancreatic cancer. Have they confirmed this or do you have lots of symptoms ? It could be something else.Have you discussed your thoughts with your oncologist or Dr ? They maybe able to give you some advice. It’s great they have referred you to a specialist and also that you are having scans to have everything checked out. I can understand how scared you are I get myself in panic mode when I read things on Google, sometimes it’s not the best place to read things. I have my fingers crossed for you that all is ok and the scans will be able to provide the answers you need. Try to stay as positive as you can, I know it’s easier than said.
Wishing you all the best
