Hello All, just wondered if anyone has had further investigations post cancer clear. I had DCIS and invasive, hormone positive and her2 negative. Lumpectomy September and clear margins and lymph nodes, started Tamoxifen and radiotherapy booked for five days. During oncology appointment I asked for a further ultrasound as could feel a tiny lump by surgery site, therefore, radiotherapy put on hold. I was sen last week examined and further ultrasound, advised that lump was clips and scar tissue. However, radiologist found a very small lump elsewhere approx 3mm and completed further biopsy. I am now paranoid again! I discussed that my itchy nipple remained as pre diagnosis and lump is close to nipple. Has anyone else had anything like this?
I was asked to come back for a further biopsy on the other breast pre surgery which delayed the surgery about a week. The consultant thought she saw something which wasn’t picked up at the initial screening. I was really worried thinking this would be a double mastectomy now. However biopsy results were fine ( small benign lump) so no extra surgery. I think they just need to be thorough. Try not to worry too much. X
Thank you that’s encouraging to know they are checking everything prior to radiotherapy, and glad that yours wasn’t anything to further worry about. I think the slightest change of plan just takes those stress levels back up again, take care and thank you x
