Hope you don’t have any problems with setoma
Cambuslang I'm sorry to hear you have had seroma
I had mastectomy end of October and been in hospital twice to drained seroma
Has your consultant advised how long this might keep happening.
No he hasn't mention to me , the only thing he wants not to drain and let the seroma to absorb itself.
Hi Safoma,
Sorry to hear about the problems you’re having.
I had a double mastestomy 2 weeks ago. I had a Seroma above the wound on the left and a bleed (haematoma) on the right. The left has reduced a lot and now feels very soft. There’s also swelling on the right side but it’s still quite large and not nearly so soft, almost hard, so I’m debating as to whether I need to contact the hospital nurses.
The only advice I’ve had so far that may help reduce Seroma is -
the exercises you should have been given by the hospital
wearing a binder (I worn mine for 1 week day and night, then saw my surgeon and she said now wear only at night until I see her again in two weeks for results
putting a heat pad over the Seroma for 15 minutes every few hours
i hope this may help, although I’m sure there are others who may have other suggestions.
Hi Mary19 sorry to hear you have had seroma and thank you for the reply
I feel soo much better after the last time they drained the seroma has not return back I'm doing a lot of hand stretch and all the exercise that they given me plus I decide to let my daughter perform a gentle massage around the wound 15 minutes early morning and 15 minutes before sleep .
